Is it just me, or does 96 days sound infinitely shorter than 100 days????

96 days!!! Gahhhhhhhhhh!!!

I emailed a dance studio today... Kyle and I are going to take dance lessons so we don't step on each other during our first dance! Weeeee! Also my wedding invitations came in the mail on Friday (so fast!!) and I picked up a calligraphy book from the library today. My apartment is about to become a giant arts and craft center as I start to take on my various wedding related DIY projects. And CAKE! We've started talking to bakers abouts flavors, and filling, and frostings. YUM!

So, uh, yeah... did I mention? WEDDING!!!! In 96 days!!!!!! :D

Proof I've Lived With Modern Technology For Too Long

I received an email this morning from Kyle's sister (who p.s. is getting married in 2 weeks) asking me to please call someone named Jeannie to RSVP for the rehearsal dinner.

So I called.

Of course, I assumed the number she gave me was Jeannie’s cell phone number, mostly because I assume ALL phone numbers are cell phone numbers these days.

Well, imagine my surprise when a male voice answered and said, “Smiths*”… I stumbled for a minute trying to figure out what do to, as I was obviously not speaking with Jeannie, and then finally just said, “Hi! My name’s Courtney, I’m Erica’s brother’s fiancé and I’m calling to RSVP for the rehearsal dinner.” Then the man on the line stumbled for a bit and I could tell that he was not quite prepared for an RSVP from some stranger on the phone, clearly this phone call was meant for someone else. But he composed himself and took down my name and how many I would be coming with and, in the end, the phone call accomplished what it needed to. After I hung up it occurred to me that I had probably just called their HOUSE phone (as opposed to a cell phone) and that I probably should have just *asked* for Jeannie when the man picked up.

Doh.

It’s been so long since I’ve called someone on a land line (and had someone other than the person I was trying to reach pickup) that I COMPLETELY forgot what to do. With cell phones, you call Jeannie and you either get Jeannie or you get Jeannie’s voice mail. And that's that. With house phones there’s no telling who you’re going to get! It’s weird to remember a time when you had to verify who you were speaking with when you placed a phone call. (“Hi, is this Becky? Hi Becky, this is Courtney.”)

Sheesh, how did I ever manage?

100 Days!!!

100 Days. How the heck did I get here? In 100 ridiculously short/interminably long days I'll be married.

MARRIED!!!! Mrs. Kyle!!!!

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

I'm so excited I could spit! But I won't. My keyboard is gross enough as it is...

The best part? I think Kyle even more excited than I am. :) How did I get so lucky?

Tomorrow begins the double digit countdown.

Favorite Florida Picture

Well, I had it in my head to do a whole Florida recap post, but seriously time is just getting away from me... So I'll just post my favorite picture from the weekend and be done with it. It's me and Kyle playing on the beach on Sanibel Island, looking at tiny mollusks as they wash up onto shore and then dig their way into the sand. They were SO CUTE! And they TICKLED like crazy!! :)

In other news, I finally (FINALLY!!!!!!) ordered my wedding invitations today!!! (Eeeeeeee!!) I'm especially pleased with the RSVP card:



I borrowed the idea from another bride on theknot.com - I think it's pretty fantastic. Hopefully my guests get a kick out of it. I CANNOT wait to mail them out! :)

I am a TERRIBLE blogger. I have no excuse... except that I've entered the land of a thousand weddings... or ten weddings... but it feels like a thousand.

I don't even have a coherent story to tell... but I do have lots of pictures.
