My Dad
Please forgive the recent lack of blogging.
My father passed away, unexpectedly, last Thursday.
God, I can't believe it's been over a week.
I got the phone call from my brother, threw clothes in a bag, and hopped on a plane for Los Angeles.
The funeral, on Tuesday, was beautiful. Really beautiful. It was at our house... which seemed strange at first, but really, my dad LOVED that house and it's how he would have wanted it.
I didn't speak at the service. I couldn't.
I'm in Germany now, with Kyle. We are going to see my father's family on Sunday... and my sister and one of my brothers are joining us there. It should be nice. My sister has never even met my dad's family. So sad that it is happening now.
Anyway, so that's where I've been. Not in a good place, but I'm getting through it. Kyle has been wonderful. My friends have been wonderful. And my family has been wonderful. I've never felt closer to my sister and brothers.
Call your loved ones. Tell them you love them.
